Construction Begins on Collapsed Section of Oji–Achi–Mmaku Road
Construction and emergency intervention works have commenced on the collapsed section of the Oji–Achi–Mmaku Road following an inspection visit by Senator Osita Ngwu and other key stakeholders.
During the site visit, Senator Osita Ngwu, alongside Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and Hon. Osita Eze, Member representing Oji River State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, assessed the extent of damage on the affected section of the road and witnessed the mobilization of construction equipment to the site.
The commencement of construction marks a significant step toward restoring smooth transportation and improving connectivity for residents, commuters, and businesses that rely on the road corridor. The intervention is expected to address the failed section and prevent further deterioration of the roadway.
Stakeholders have expressed optimism that the swift response and commencement of works will bring lasting relief to communities along the Oji–Achi–Mmaku axis and enhance economic activities in the area.
Construction is now officially underway, with contractors already mobilized to site for immediate intervention and rehabilitation works.
