Yesterday, June 2, 2026, I, Senator Osita Ngwu, alongside the Member representing Oji River/Awgu/Aninri Federal Constituency, Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu, held a productive and urgent engagement with the Honourable Minister of Works, H.E. Senator David Umahi, regarding the immediate repair of the collapsed section of the Oji–Achi–Mmaku Federal Road, as well as four other critical points that are under serious threat of collapse.
The meeting was a continuation of our ongoing efforts to secure both immediate and lasting solutions that will restore access, improve transportation, and ease the hardship being experienced by commuters and residents of the affected communities.
The Honourable Minister acknowledged the gravity of the situation and assured us that the failed portions of the road require urgent intervention and will be given the necessary attention.
Concrete steps are already being taken to ensure that remedial works commence within the shortest possible time.
We remain committed to ensuring that our people enjoy safe and accessible road infrastructure.
